Flood Relief Camp - 2008:

The 2008 Bihar flood was one of the most disastrous floods in the history of Bihar, an impoverished and densely populated state in India. The Kosi embankment near the Indo-Nepal border (at Kusaha VDC, Sunsari district, Nepal) broke on 18 August 2008.

Around 500 families had moved from Supaul to a Madrasa at Mirjabari, Kasba, Purnea and took shelter there. Families we're having difficulties to live there as it was winter and they were not having sufficient means to live. SAWERA stood up and organized a flood relief camp with the help all students of Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi for their contribution and support.

May Allah bless them and accept it for the right cause. SAWERA distributed blankets and mosquito nets to all families so that at least they could had a good sleep. SAWERA is very thankful to all volunteers and contributors for the support. Special thanks to Mr. MD Iqbal sb (District Council), Kasba for his guidance.
